Membership at other Libraries

UTS staff and students are automatically members of the UTS Library.
You may also borrow from other Australian Libraries, see below.

Universities in Australia

UTS is a member of University Libraries of Australia and New Zealand (ULANZ)- a borrowing scheme for staff and students. This entitles you to borrow in person from participating university libraries.

To register
Go directly to the host university and present proof of your current enrolment or employment at UTS. The registration period is to the 28th February of the following year. Borrowing conditions are those of the host Library. Some libraries may charge a fee for registration (this is indicated with an asterisk on the list of participating libraries).

Universities Overseas

UTS Academic Staff and Research students visiting overseas but studying in Australia may apply for membership at overseas universities. For borrowing purposes, they may need a letter of indemnity from UTS Library, which can be obtained by contacting UTS Access Services Manager on Tel +61 2 9514 3309. It is the decision of the host university whether they will accept your application.

Students studying UTS courses at an overseas location should apply to their Faculty Course Coordinator for information about access to local libraries or resources.

New Zealand

UTS staff and students can borrow in person from participating * Universities in New Zealand through ULANZ

*The University of Auckland is not participating in this scheme.

TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute College Libraries (SI)

UTS staff and students may borrow at SI where we have a reciprocal borrowing agreement. A fee of $50 applies and your registration lasts to the 31st January of the following year.

Jessie Street National Womens Library (JSNWL)

There is a Memorandum of Understanding between JSNWL and UTS.

UTS students wanting to borrow from the Loan Collection will be treated as if financial members of the Library. No fees apply. You will need to bring your current student card which will be photocopied and filed until the item is returned.
