Calling all researchers and HDR students... join us at UTS Library for a free web based seminar!

Open Access raises the visibility of research, returns control of scholarly journals to their communities and drives down the cost of publication for the academic community. Open Access also supports new models for the open sharing of digital articles, data and educational resources in partnership with the library community. The theme of Open Access Week 2017 comes in the form of a question "Open in order to...?"

Australasian Open Access Strategy Group's (AOASG) monthly webinar will be lead this month by Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition's (SPARC) Executive Director Heather Joseph. Heather is a leading advocate for OA working to get the issue through US Congress via the bipartisan Fair Access to Science and Technology Research Act.

Invite your colleagues and join us for the live lunchtime presentation! UTS Library eResearch Manager Scott Abbott will open the event with an introduction of Heather Joseph's work and UTS Open Access initiatives with opportunities to ask your OA questions of Heather live via the webinar.

If you are unable to attend the screening, you can register to view the webinar from your location for free via the AOASG Eventbrite invitation.
