Executive Summary: 

In February, IAG launched its 2004 communityhelp Grants program. A pilot of the Grants program was conducted in 2003 in one IAG division, so this years launch gave it a national, company-wide platform. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />


The Grants program one of IAGs key community investment initiatives involves a combination of internal and external communication activities, targeting a range of publics.


Through the communityhelp Grants program, IAG invites stakeholders (employees, customers, community organisations and the general public) to nominate community groups to receive a grant of up to $5,000 for locally based initiatives that make communities safer and more sustainable.  This aligns with IAGs business purpose of helping the community to reduce risk.


Broadly, the programs communication objectives were to:

·         Increase internal and external grant applications

·         Generate awareness of IAGs community involvement

·         Communicate key messages to target publics, including media.


The communication campaign supporting the 2004 communityhelp Grants program was highly successful, with all objectives met to date.


Feedback and evaluation following the program, which identified areas for development, will be incorporated into planning for next years program.
