In this guide:

Through the Library, you have access to some wonderful newspaper archives and databases:

  • Newsbank - a news database that is easy to search and contains both local and national Australian newspapers. To watch a tutorial on how to use Newsbank, click here.
  • Factiva -  a news database that searches Australian and international newspapers. Please note that the Library only has 20 concurrent licenses for Factiva - if 20 people are using it at one time, a new user will not be able to use it until someone logs off. • Trove - an excellent newspaper archive published by the National Library of Australia. Contains news archives from 1803 to 2007.
  • Sydney Morning Herald Archives - digitised copies of the Sydney Morning Herald from 1955 to 1990.
  • Google Newspapers - search hundreds of local and international newspapers, with dates ranging from the mid 18th century to the present.
