FINDING BUSINESS INFORMATION -

To find information, conduct research or complete an assignment you can use a variety of information sources: books, journal articles and Internet sites. This is a subject guide to getting started in finding general business information and specialised resources in specific business subject areas like Accounting, Marketing, Business Law, Management and International Business.

UTS Library Catalogue lists all the books, journals and audiovisual materials available to you in the Library and where to find them. The UTS Library Catalogue lists both print and electronic resources, including over 17,000 electronic journals.

SuperSearch is a gateway to a collection of selected sources. It will allow you to retrieve information from selected library catalogues, journal databases and search engines in a single search, and link to the full text of journal articles and many other resources to which the Library has electronic access. Start your research on SuperSearch from the Library web page by signing in with your UTS webmail user ID and Password. Then select the subject area Business from the Resource List to enable searching of a number of databases at one time and retrieve information on your topic.

Journals are good resources for current, specialised information and research on a wide range of subjects. The Library Catalogue does not list journal articles - only the journal title (the name of the journal in which the articles are published). To find journal articles on a topic use a journal database.

Journal Databases are the best tools for finding journal articles and papers on a subject. Most journal databases cover articles from journals within a certain range of subjects and some cover a very wide range of subjects. All journal databases provide a list of references (citations) to articles. Most include summaries of articles called abstracts and some may provide the whole article in full text online. All are listed on the Library web site under Journal Databases and require a UTS Webmail User ID and Password for off-campus access.

The following Journal databases will be useful for finding articles on business topics and can be accessed from the Journal Databases page by using the first letter of the database name:
