UTS Library

Please don’t damage the books – or you might have to replace them

This is a reminder to all students and staff that highlighting, marking and leaving post-it notes in books are all considered damage to Library items. We have recently observed an increase in the number of books returned to us in this condition.

Students are required to pay for the replacement of Library items that they have damaged.

More often than not, highlighting and annotating books is a hindrance for the next person borrowing that item, not help. UTS Library has a strict policy on book damage and we wish to maintain the Library Collection for all our clients to use. If you notice any damage to a Library item, please let staff at the Enquiries & Loans Desk know so that they can make a note of this on the book’s record prior to you borrowing it.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
