2ser Talks Sustainability with UTS Library

Plastic Bag in Ocean

On the evening of 28 July, UTS students and staff gathered in UTS Library’s Events Space for a free film screening of A Plastic Ocean. The documentary film uncovers how plastic particulates make their way into the ocean, attract toxins, enter the food chain, ultimately to be consumed by humans. The screening was a collaboration with UTS C3 student Steph Gardner to promote the Plastic Free July initiative where participants “choose to refuse” single-use plastic for the month of July.

On the quest to learn about practical sustainability solutions, 2ser’s Jake Morcom attended the film screening to ask how people feel about their relationships with plastic. Listen to the episode How can we escape plastic?, part of 2ser’s Think: Sustainability series, to hear what the UTS community finds to be their toughest challenges.

UTS is committed to educating future leaders about the importance of sustaining local and global environments, organisational health and our ability to create a positive, viable future.
