UTS Library

Borrow more items, for longer

Commencing Monday, 12 November 2018 the UTS Library will be changing its loan options to provide you with more and longer loans.

What does this mean for you?

  • 7-day loans will be phased out and these items added to the general collection
  • Borrowing limits on reserve items will be increased to 2 items per person

For full details see Borrowing Items.

What do you need to know?
As with all general collection items, other Library clients can recall them at any time meaning your due date may change. When borrowing an item you are guaranteed a minimum 2-week loan period with a notification email being sent to your UTS email account if the item is recalled and due back earlier.

What if the item I want is out on loan?
If you would like to borrow an item but it is out on loan you have several options available to you.

  1. Check the Open Reserve, high demand items are kept here and available for 2 hour loans.
  2. A lot of course texts can be found as eReadings. We also have available many eBooks, eJournals, and Subject Resources.
  3. Recall the item – the longest you’ll have to wait is 2 weeks, often it will be returned much sooner.

I can't log into MyLibrary since my library card issued in 2016 does not display a bar code.
