Access to computers and wifi connection

Dear Sir or Madam,

As an UTS alumni, I would like to register as a member of UTS library. There are 4 different types of membership I can choose from, while I would like to use computers in the library and have access to the UTS wifi connection, I jst wonder that what types of membership includes these services? Thanks.

Regards,

Will

Hi Will,

There are a couple of options for Alumni wanting to use the Library but sadly I don't think any of them confer wifi access, although all would allow you to use PC's in the Library. The 4 types of Alumni membership differ in that some offer no borrowing, some do, and some offer off campus access to limited databases. All confer access to our Library pc's but none offer access to the UTS Wireless network. Hope this helps, apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Hi there,

I was just wondering if it was still the case that no library memberships offered wifi access, as there are certainly times in the library when no terminals are available. If wifi is not included with any memberships, do you know if it is possible to arrange access to the wifi in the library from other university sources?

Hi again Treffyn,

There is a wireless network available in the library called Eduroam. This wireless network is set up so that people visiting from other universitys here and abroad can access wireless. If you are enrolled elsewhere at another university there is a good chance you can access eduroam with your credentials from that other university.

More information is available from this website, including the access method for your home university - http://www.eduroam.edu.au/tools-and-resources.html
