UTS Library

Library Spaces

Both campus libraries provide a mix of spaces to best meet your study and research needs. Quiet environments are designated areas where noise is kept to a minimum to encourage individual study. No noise at all is permitted in Silent Study Rooms. The different study areas are indicated on the floor plans.

Baya Ng'ara Nura* Learning Place

Open area to all Indigenous and Non-Indigenous students

Dedicated to the spirit of the UTS Statement on Reconciliation, the Baya Ng'ara Nura* - Learning Place has been specifically designed to welcome Indigenous students.

In the language of the Eora Nation, these words mean Read (Baya), Listen, Hear, Think (Ng'ara), Place or Country (Nura).

Baya Ng'ara Nura* provides a welcoming space with study tables and computers, in which Indigenous students can study and learn together with other students, while being able to access the Library resources and learning support.

When attending UTS during block instruction, Indigenous students are given priority access to computers in this area. To book your next computer session call 9514 3666, or ask a staff member at the Research Help Desk on Level 2.

Guides for Indigenous students

To help you with your studies, Indigenous Study Guides provide an introduction to resources including printed reference material, journal databases and subject-specific website links.
