You need the ebrary Reader

There may be a few reasons why you're having problems reading / saving / printing / copying a book in ebrary. If the solutions below are not helpful, please Ask a Librarian and we can get in touch to offer more assistance.

Install Adobe Digital Editions

To download a whole book from ebrary, you'll need to install the freely available Adobe Digital Editions software on your computer. To authenticate the software, please create an Adobe ID or log in with an existing one. Note, this software is not available on UTS computers, so you'll need to install it on your personal computer.

Refresh your browser or Restart your Computer

Try refreshing your browser and if that fails, restart your computer.

Support & Training

The ebrary Help pages shows you how to install the reader, search, browse and view the eBooks. It also has a Contact Technical Support form if your question is not answered by the Help pages.

Consider Copyright

Materials available on the ebrary database are subject to copyright. You can copy and print some of the text, but not an entire book.

Hi -- the links here to 'support and training' page and 'ebrary FAQs' are broken. I am trying to find out if it is possible to read an ebrary book 'borrowed' for 14 days through the download feature on an iPad. I have downloaded the ebrary reader app but it is asking for a signin to a personal ebrary account as well as an Adobe account. I don't want to go to all the trouble of doing this unless it's necessary.

Hi Elaine,

ebrary does require you to have an Adobe ID account and to set up a passcode. These are features ebrary uses to protect their content and ensure it's used under the licensing conditions. While there are quite a few things to do, once you have that set up it should be fairly straightforward to download content in the future.

If you haven't seen these already, here are the instructions on setting up your ebrary app: http://support.ebrary.com/kb/category/en/mobileapp/

Please let me know if you get stuck or need more help!
