Use Synonyms
Use more general key words or synonyms and check your spelling.

 

Use the Thesaurus/Subject Terms/Topic Guide/Map to Subject Heading
These features within databases help you find suitable keywords and subject terms to search on.
Check the HELP link in individual databases to read more about these features.

 

Choose a Relevant Database
You may not be using the most relevant database to answer your question.

Go to SuperSearch
Click on the Databases tab then click on Category tab.
Highlight the general Category to display the specific sub-categories that will direct you to the best databases for that subject.

Attend a training session

Check the Subject Guides they suggest subject headings to use in the Library catalogue and list relevant databases.

Answer question
