Select the reference style in your EndNote library, and then click on Edit, Output Styles, Edit "[your style]". This opens the Edit Style window. Select Citations - Sort Order. To get the style to order multiple in-text citations by Date, select Year + Author as the Citation Sort Order. To get the style to leave multiple in-text citations in the order they were inserted, select Don't Sort as the Citation Sort Order. Close the Edit Style window and save changes.
