Finding your way around the Library can be tricky to start with. This information will tell you where items are located in the Library.
When you search the Catalogue for an information resource that is available in the Library, you will find that it provides you with a CALL NUMBER. For example, searching for Blue, the Call Number is 821.3 COMB
The grey bar on the Catalogue tells you the Campus (City), the floor (Level 4), and in this case, that it is part of a special collection (Australian Culture Collection) and the Call Number.
Go to Level 4, follow the signs that indicate where the Australian Culture Collection is and then scan the spines of the books until you find 821.3 COMB
What if the item is not there?
When the catalogue lists an item as being Available and the item is not on the shelves, try searching the trolleys at the City Campus (you’ll find them dotted around the Library) or on the red sorting shelves at Kuring-gai. You should also check that the item you want has not been left near the photocopiers.
If you still can't find it, ask a Rover (they wear orange shirts) or a staff member.
What if the item is at the other campus?
All UTS students can borrow from and return items to any UTS Campus Library. Apply online via the Requests page to obtain journal articles held in the other campus library and to transfer books between libraries.
What if the item is on loan?
You can request the item using the Request Item button. See Requests for more information.
