This 1 hour, hands-on workshop will introduce you to using the Library Catalogue, finding a database for your faculty, find articles on your topic, evaluate the information you find and access study guides for more help.

This class covers key strategies to maximise relevant results from databases and developing a comprehensive search strategy for your topic - eg. when undertaking a literature review. It builds on the Introduction to Library Research class.

This class will introduce a number of key statistical websites and other resources to use when sourcing statistics. It will include both Australian and international sources eg: Australian Bureau of Statistics, SourceOECD, World Bank, the United Nations and an effective Google search.

EndNote for Researchers
This 2 hour workshop introduces EndNote and covers: getting the software, creating an EndNote library, adding references to your library, reference styles including Harvard (UTS), using Groups, using EndNote with Word to create a bibliography, and more.

Advanced EndNote
[5]This 2 hour workshop covers advanced features of EndNote such as: attaching files, printing reference lists, managing images and figures, footnotes, editing reference styles, EndNote library preferences, EndNote Web and more. Bring your own question or topic!

Organise your references with RefWorks! This web based software will help you collect, store and organise your references into a bibliography in no time! You will learn how to: create a RefWorks account, add references manually or from a database, insert references into a Word document and create a bibliography.

If you’re a researcher, chances are you’ll have data. It could be stats, instrument data, interviews, images, video... pretty much anything. BUT – have you thought about how you’ll organise it for easy retrieval and use? Do you know where you will store it? Do you have plans if your computer is destroyed by flood, fire or alien invasion? If not, don’t panic - we can help you solve these problems and make sure you have a data management plan that is simple but covers all stages of your research project. This will be a hands on session so please bring along or think about a project you are currently working on to use in the session.
