National Year of Reading
UTS Library will be hosting a series of FREE author talks throughout the month of May as part of the continuing National Year of Reading celebrations.
The first talk will be presented by Debra Adelaide author of The Household Guide to Dying, published in 2009. Debra will be reading a piece of short fiction about reading as an obsession called 'In Bed with Flaubert' and discussing the topic of reading as it relates to her novel.
About the book:
'As I resigned myself to the fact that the latest Household Guide I'd written would be my last, I conceived in a flash the best idea ever. I rang Nancy and left a message. 'Think of the title,' I said. 'How catchy does The Household Guide to Dying sound?'
Delia Bennet is the author of a series of household guides, as well as being quirky and popular domestic advice columnist. After battling unsuccessfully with cancer, sho knows it's time to get her own house in order, both literally and emotionally.
