Both campus libraries provide a mix of spaces to best meet your study and research needs. Quiet environments are designated areas where noise is kept to a minimum to encourage individual study. No noise at all is permitted in Silent Study Rooms. The different study areas are indicated on the floor plans.
Australian Culture Lounge
Open area to all
- comfortable place for reading
- features a collection of Australian literary classics
- it enables students, especially international students, to sample some of the literature exporing Australian identity

Baya Ng'ara Nura* Learning Place
Open area to all Indigenous and Non-Indigenous students
Dedicated to the spirit of the UTS Statement on Reconciliation, the Baya Ng'ara Nura* - Learning Place has been specifically designed to welcome Indigenous students.
In the language of the Eora Nation, these words mean Read (Baya), Listen, Hear, Think (Ng'ara), Place or Country (Nura).
Baya Ng'ara Nura* provides a welcoming space with study tables and computers, in which Indigenous students can study and learn together with other students, while being able to access the Library resources and learning support.
When attending UTS during block instruction, Indigenous students are given priority access to computers in this area. To book your next computer session call 9514 3666 or ask a staff member at the Research Help Desk on Level 2.
Guides for Indigenous students
To help you with your studies, Indigenous Study Guides [3] provides an introduction to resources including printed reference material, journal database and subject specific website links.

International Cultural and News Centre (ICNC)

- monitors and listening posts that have been designed for students to access a broad selection of international television channels and online resources

Lockers
Lockers are available on Level 4 and Level 5 of the City Campus Library. Locker keys are available for loan from the Enquiries and Loans Desk on Level 2.
Lockers are available for daily use by UTS students and staff.
Items left in lockers overnight will be cleared out, and you will need to contact staff at the Enquiries and Loans Desk on Level 2 to retrieve your belongings.
Fines of $5 per hour may apply to the late return of locker keys.

Scholars' Centre
A dedicated centre for UTS postgraduate research students and staff
The Scholars' Centre provides easy access to the full-range of Library services and resources and a quiet study environment conducive to the research process. Assistance from librarians at the nearby Research Help Desk is there when you need it.
The Centre features
- computers with access to the Library's electronic resources and a range of other software
- power outlets for laptop wireless access
- a reading area
- a meeting room
- an internal telephone
Access to the Scholar's Centre is through the UTS Personal Identification Number (PIN) Access System.
To obtain a PIN:
