Journal Access - Alumni

The accesss in the journal links from the uts alumni page seems extremely limited.

Is this the case? There is no info on the page as to how limited this access is or isnt. Is it full access or not? if not - how limited. Ive already paid my subscription but I expected reasonable access at the very list. For example no articles resturned on a search for "edward snowden" give me a break!

Hi Scott,

The list of databases on the alumni page is accurate as of quite recently I beleive, as we were going over this late in 2013 and early 2014. The list is obviously not as long as it would be for a UTS student but the list is defined by what the database vendors will offer us in terms of off campus associate member access. Despite the shortness of the list there should be some databases you will find useful in there - Sage Journals Online for instance - i got 280 matches for Edward Snowden there, and that is all high quality literature. Project muse also generates around 90 hits for that search, and Academic Search Alumni generates 770 hits, most of which are in full text - now I haven't delved into the content behind these hits too much but hopefully there is something there you can use. Do reply to this answer or email me directly if you find that isn't happening at your end.

Thanks!

David
