In text referencing of journal quote with no author

Hi,

What is the protocol for using a direct quote in text with no author? It's from a journal article. So should it say "He used to write" (Anon 2006, p. 4)? Or...?

Thanks

Hi Erin,

If your article has no author then generally you would use the title of the article in text and in your bibliography. Put your page numbers for a quotation after the year in the in-text citation, just as you would if there were a proper author. I'll attach a modified example from our website below:

In text
(‘Schuth wins Leibniz prize’ 2003, p. 62)

Reference list
'Schuth wins Leibniz prize' 2003, Materials Today, vol. 6, no. 6, p. 61-4.

Hope this helps!
