How do I reference an intent reference in a journal article?

Hi Naomi

If you are referencing someone quoted in an article you are reading you reference the journal article in-text and in your reference list - however you talk about the author mentioned in the article's in text reference in your essay.

For example if the article is written by Jones in 2013 and in that article you see something about potatoes being high in carbohydrates referenced as (Molkov 1997)

Then in your essay you would say 'Molkov says potatoes are high in carbohydrates (Jones 2013)

And then you would put Jones 2013 in your reference list.
