Hi, if im quoting someone from an article and they use the words 'I' or 'me', is it still alright to include those in the quote even though its a third person essay?

Hi Kim,

Absolutely, I can't see why that would be a problem. If you were quoting an interview in an essay this would be a hard thing to get around, I'd imagine. You can paraphrase the quotes my manipulating some of those expressions to something else using square brackets [ ] and then saying something like

paraphrasing by the author

in your in text reference, but I can't see why that would be necessary.

Thanks!

David
