The due date for returning your loans is printed on the loans slip presented to you when you borrowed the items. After this date, the item becomes overdue and a fine will apply. You can view your own library record at MyLibrary, this will show you what items you have on loan and when they are due back.
Items can be recalled before the original due date in some circumstances. Please see the Recall page for details.
During Library hours, please return materials in the chutes located inside the Library. You may return borrowed items (except overnight Closed Reserve loans) to either the Blake Library (City Campus) or the Kuring-gai Campus Library.
For your convenience, return bins have been installed in Building 1, Level 4 (foyer), Building 2, Level 4 and Building 10, Jones St entry. The return bins are emptied at 8:00am Monday to Friday. They are not emptied on weekends or public holidays. Items returned to these bins will remain on your Library record until they reach the UTS Library. If your items are due back soon, please return them directly to the Blake Library to avoid penalties for late return.
Closed Reserve loans should be returned to the Closed Reserve desk in the campus library where they were borrowed.
After hours: there are after hours return chutes at the City and Kuring-gai campuses which are available 24 hours.
Do not return items you have borrowed to the shelves or leave them on tables in the Library. They will be reshelved without being removed from your borrowing record.
"Recently Returned" - when an item is returned and discharged from your Library record, the catalogue will display this message for 24 hours.
We will remind you when your books are almost due back. An email notice will be sent to you two or three days before your loans are due. However, it remains your obligation to check when items are due back and to check your emails regularly.
If you are not a UTS staff member or UTS student you may go to Change of Address and provide us with an email address.
