Referencing Guides

Referencing Software

Students can choose from either EndNote or RefWorks software to store and manage their citations and create bibliographies in the Harvard (UTS) style. The major differences between EndNote and RefWorks are:

  1. RefWorks is web based with no necessary downloads.
  2. Citations stored on RefWorks can be accessed from any computer with internet access. References can therefore be shared by setting up a shared password.
  3. RefWorks has the SFX software enabling you to link to the journal's full-text article, if available.
  4. EndNote must be downloaded onto your computer. The files are very large (up to 75 MB)
  5. Before downloading EndNote check for compatibility issues.
  6. EndNote provides more functionality and reference styles.
  7. EndNote allows easier style customisation.
  8. EndNote can store and manage tables, images and PDF files.

EndNote is a software package used to collect, store and organise your references.

RefWorks is a web based software used to collect, store and organise your references.

Writing
