EndNote

EndNote is a software package that will assist you to collect, store, organise and use your references.

  • References can be entered into EndNote manually, or they can be transferred electronically into EndNote from journal databases and library catalogues.
  • References can be inserted electronically from EndNote into Word documents such as research papers, journal articles or a thesis.
  • A bibliography (reference list) of all the inserted references is automatically created.

You can choose from many reference styles that come with the program. EndNote is very flexible: it is very easy to change between referencing styles, or modify styles to suit specific requirements.

The most recent versions of EndNote currently available to UTS staff and students are EndNote X3.0.1 for Windows, and EndNote X3 for Macintosh, though earlier versions are also available. Staff and students of UTS can download a free copy of EndNote from the Download EndNote link to the left.

If you have a question or a problem with EndNote, check our EndNote FAQs. In particular, if you have EndNote already you may wish to know if there are any benefits to upgrading.

The Library offers online EndNote Tutorials, and also EndNote classes to all staff and students: the timetable and instructions for enrolling are on our EndNote Workshop page.

In addition, the Library offers EndNote classes to Postgraduate Research students as part of the University Graduate School's workshop program.
