UTS Library


UTS Library staff are engaged in collaborative and benchmarking activities with a range of professional networks and organisations.



UTS Library is a member of the Australian Academic Design Libraries (PDF) and is a sponsor of the Australian Book Design Awards.


UTS Library has been appointed to host the New South Wales node of the Australian Social Science Data Archive (ASSDA).


UTS Library is the national node for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Data Archive (ATSIDA).


The Council of Australian University Librarians provides a common voice and representation for all university libraries, a forum for discussion and promotion of common interests.

King's College

UTS Library and King's College collaborate to provide the Digital Futures Australasia training. Led by international experts, Digital Futures focuses on the creation, delivery and preservation of digital resources from cultural and memory institutions.


The Libraries of the Australian Technology Network (LATN) comprises the Libraries from UTS, RMIT, Curtin, QUT, UNISA and Auckland University of Technology. The LATN group develops an annual strategic plan which is formulated within the wider context of the Australian Technology Network (ATN) agenda and includes a number of agreed collaborative projects.


The Public Knowledge Project (PKP) is a research and development initiative directed toward improving the scholarly and public quality of academic research through the development of innovative online publishing and knowledge-sharing environments. UTS Library works with PKP to develop new and improve existing open source products, including the Open Monograph System and Open Journal System.



Research and Innovation Office

The Library works with the Research and Innovation Office (RIO) to ensure that UTS is compliant with the Excellence in Research for Australia innitiative. The Library is responsible for copyright clearance, version control of published articles as well as storage, indexing, preservation and redistribution of material through UTS ePRESS.

Journal Managers and Editors

The Library publishes a number of online, open access journals covering a variety of disciplines. Working closely with our Journal Managers and Editors, the Library ensures they have the infrastructure, technical and publishing support required to maintain successful journals.

Jumbunna Indigenous House of Learning (JIHL)

The Library works closely with the JIHL on a number of important projects, including ATSIDA, Indigenous Literacy Day and events around National Reconciliation Week, as well as providing support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying at UTS.

Institute for Sustainable Futures and Financial Services Unit

The Library also works closely with the Institute for Sustainable Futures and the Financial Services Unit to ensure sustainable procurement and other sustainability projects.

HELPS, Careers, UTS Housing and Student Services

We collaborate with HELPS, Careers, UTS Housing and Student Services to ensure students are supported in all aspects of their university life.

Other UTS departments

The Library also works closely with colleagues in the Legal Office, Human Resources Unit, Information Technology Department, Marketing and Communications Unit and Facilities Management Unit for delivery of services, products and infrastructure.

UTS: Graduate Research School

We collaborate with the UTS: Graduate Research School on the researcher capability development program and deliver training programs to develop research students’ knowledge and skills.

And finally and very importantly, we partner with our colleagues in the faculties to provide quality research and teaching support for the University community.
