Changes to BONUS+

From 10 June 2019 the BONUS+ service will be superseded by ‘Request for Purchase’ and InterLibrary Loans (for eligible patrons) services.

The ‘Request for Purchase’ service will enrich our library collection, provide improved loan conditions and renewal options for our patrons. InterLibrary Loans will supplement our collection and provide a convenient way for staff and post graduate students to access books and journal articles.

Details for BONUS+ users

  • A limited loan period of three weeks will apply for any items requested before the 10 June that arrive after the 10 June.
  • Any items currently on loan after the 10 June will no longer be eligible for renewal and will need to be returned by the due date to avoid late fees.

Is this because BONUS+ is going to close down, or is it just that UTS will no longer be a member? I have found the BONUS+ service to be a very prompt way to get materials not available at UTS - how long will it  take to get an ILL request (AUstralia or NZ-based) processed, and how long would a purchase usually take to be processed?

Hi, we have a team here who work on ILL loan requests and liaise with other libraries to find the item you are looking for. Based on how far the item is travelling (and the processing time from the other library) this time frame can vary. Request of purchasing of e-books has the fastest turn around for our clients.
