Finding Archival Maps for Architecture: Infrastructure Drawings of Rivers

In this guide:

Searching for infrastructure maps of rivers is similar to searching for regular maps, only you add in terms like infrastructure or more specific examples of infrastructure. Eg:

hawkesbury river (weir OR lock OR "fish ladder" OR dam)

I found that using Google images was less useful for this kind of search. Instead I had to look through documents found in the main part of Google to find maps of infrastructure. I also found that it was harder to find older archival information on infrastructure. For modern day examples, this document from Environment NSW represents a not bad result.

Water New South Wales also has some interesting (though not archival) data, including this Real time data service

Water NSW

I also found this report from Industry NSW which outlines the way natural and man made water sources are managed in NSW. Contains maps and stats (again modern data though).
