Industry Legislation

Government websites and some nonprofit organisation websites can be helpful by providing relevant facts and information on your topic, e.g. industry news and legislations.

Technical Report

  • SAE MOBILUS: 18,000+ technical papers published by the Society of Automotive Engineers from 1998.
  • NTRL (National Technical Reports Library): The National Technical Reports Library provides access to US Federal government technical reports in science and technology.  It indexes about 2,000,000 reports and currently provides access to PDF copies of some 800,000 reports published since 1995. Note that while access is free to the public, you must register with NTRL to gain access, and you may only download five reports per session. 
  • OSTI.GOVReplaces the SciTech Connect database, gateway to decades of DOE technical reports and other publications.

Statistical information is used as evidence to support your findings or viewpoint.  It can be in the form of tables, figures, charts or spreadsheets taken from a reliable source.

  • Australian Bureau of Statistics. This is a government organisation providing free access to a wide range of Australian statistical data on various themes from IT, environmental issues to financial statistics.  It also provides links to International statistics from Other Statistical Agencies.
  • IBISWorld — Australian industry research reports with key statistics.
  • OECD iLibrary.  This statistical database gives access to a broad range of interactive and comparative data for OECD and some non OECD countries.
