Grey Literature

The University of New England has an excellent research skills page on Grey literature. It includes a useful definition of what Grey Literature is and lists several links to Australian sources of grey literature.

The term grey literature refers to research that is either unpublished or has been published in non-commercial form. Examples of grey literature include:

  • government reports
  • theses and dissertations
  • research reports
  • geological and geophysical surveys
  • maps
  • newsletters and bulletins
  • fact sheets
Goverment reports can be found by searching Google. For example, Aged Care Australia site:gov.au gets results from Australian government sources only.
