Food for Fines ends 14 December

Food for Fines

Students need to make sure that outstanding library fines are under $50 to receive spring semester results.

Food for Fines is now in its 6th year at UTS Library. This year, Food for Fines will run from Monday 17 November to Sunday 14 December. Donations can be made at the Enquiries and Loans Desks at the City Campus Library and Kuring-Gai Campus Library.

The Food for Fines Campaign is a way for Library clients to contribute to a worthy cause and lower their fines at the same time. Staff and students will be able to donate non-perishable items, including canned food, jars and packeted food, but no confectionery. Items must not be damaged and the expiry date must not be before June 2015.

For each item donated $3 will be deducted and up to a maximum of $30 can be claimed off your fines. The Library encourages clients without fines to also donate, as it all goes to a worthy cause. The donations will be given to Mission Australia. They are a local charity helping people who are homeless, unemployed or living in poverty.

So get in the Christmas spirit and start giving.
