Diversity Week: Social Justice at UTS

Diversity Week is a week of free events that celebrate the diversity of the UTS community. UTS Library is hosting two photographic exhibitions and a film screening as part of this initiative. 

Film Screening: UTS Human Rights Awards Finalists

The biennial UTS Human Rights Awards celebrate and recognise the contributions of staff and students towards creating a more equitable university and society. This screening will feature favourites from last year’s Creative Media category including the winning film.

Photography Exhibition: ‘A Global Lens’

Date: Monday, 10 August – Friday, 21 August
Venue: Library Foyer, Level 2, City Campus Library

UTS Library is exhibiting photographs by 2 of the 40 students BUiLD has supported in undertaking short-term overseas programs. BUiLD (Beyond UTS Leadership Development) is an exciting and dynamic leadership program offering a range of overseas short-term study, or volunteering programs that students can participate in. BUiLD takes students beyond their degree by giving them the chance to explore issues of social enterprise, sustainability and social justice from a global perspective.

Murder Not Tragedy: Rana Plaza

Date: Monday, 13 July – Friday 28 August
Venue: Level 4 Breakout Space, City Campus Library

UTS Library hosts photos from the Drik Gallery, which explore the shocking collapse of the Rana Plaza garment factory in Bangladesh.
