Gold and Greener Pastures: Open Access Explained

Open access promotes the global dissemination of information and knowledge via the internet free of any financial, legal or technical restraints.

It is a movement that has been gaining great momentum over recent years.

Join us for a panel discussion exploring the various aspects of open access including: open educational resources, open data, and the perspectives of a journal editor and publisher of an eBook.

Our esteemed panellists are:

  • Professor Shirley Alexander, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Teaching, Learning & Equity)
  • Professor Paul Ashton, Professor of Public History, Creative Practices Group, FASS
  • Dr Chris Caines, Senior Lecturer, Creative Practices Group, FASS
  • Sharyn Wise, eResearch Analyst, Technical Services department
  • As a Special Guest speaker we have Dr Sandra Peter, Lecturer at the University of Sydney
