UTS ePRESS announces new book - Creative Business in Australia

Creative Business in Australia

UTS ePRESS announces the release of a new eBook, Creative Business in Australia, edited by Lisa Andersen, Paul Ashton and Lisa Colley.

Creative Business in Australia offers an overview of the work of the Creative Industries Innovation Centre (CIIC) - the largest single Australian government investment in creative industries. From 2009 to 2015, the CIIC not only provided industry intelligence and advice for public policy and peak sectoral activity, but crucially supported the development of 1500 Australian creative industry businesses, through the provision of tailored business services. During this time the Centre delivered 630 in-depth business reviews with established companies, 1179 hours of free, expert business advice for start-ups, eight national training programs, and published industry intelligence on the creative industries.

With contributions from the CIIC’s team of senior business advisers and from leading Australian researchers, this collection gives an overview of the current ‘state of business’ in Australia’s creative industries – both as an industry sector in its own right and as an enabling sector and skills set for other industries – and reflects on business needs, creative industries policy and support services for the sector.
