FREE Film Screening: Chindia: Short Films from the Diaspora - A Sydney Chinese New Year Festival Event

Chindia Logo

In celebration of Chinese New Year, Carnival of the Bold and the UTS Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion presents Chindia: Short Films from the Diaspora, a free screening of short films exploring issues of cultural and national identity, politics, displacement and histories in the Chinese and Indian diaspora hosted by UTS Library as part of wider Sydney Chinese New Year Festival events.

Chindia unpacks the multiplicity of identities in migrant communities, and champions the practice of the arts as a socially innovative tool to increase community engagement and participation in creating an inclusive, culturally rich, diverse and vibrant society.

Following the short films, two academics will also share their perspectives, followed by the opportunity to discuss and meet and mingle with others.
