Rare books now available online

During 2017 UTS Library's digitisation team completed a major project of scanning and photographing a selection of rare books from our Special Collections and making them publicly available via the Library's Catalogue and the Internet Archive – a shared global repository that allows researchers to access digital media for free.

UTS Library's Special Collections include more than 2000 print items, with strengths in the areas of design disciplines and Australian history.  For this project, the Library prioritised items in the Special Collections that had no digital copy available online, making many of the rare books that have been digitised available globally for the first time, including a number of rare editions of impressively illustrated 19th and 20th century children's fiction

This project is one of the ways UTS Library is supporting the principles of an international open access community and ensuring the wide dissemination of our research materials.
