How do you cite a Documentary using EndNote X5?

Does anyone know which is best to cite a documentary under?

The options on EndNote X5 include:

  1. Audiovisual material
  2. Film or broadcast

Audiovisual material doesn't have 'director' as an option, only Series Editor - does that count as the director?

Film or broadcast seems a bit over the top for a documentary

Hi Kathryn,

When you download a documentary from our catalogue, like say Guns Germs and Steel - it comes down as an audiovisual material resource type. The filmmaker's name goes in the author field, and then you have a year, title, publisher and place. EndNote will put the 'videorecording' part of the reference in for you.

I hope this approach suits your needs. Do respond to this question if not and we'll take it from there.
