Hi Brent,

I'm not really an expert on this but I have two pieces of information I can share with you.

a.) in EndNote if you use the annotated style and do an in text reference it comes out as just (author date)

however

b) in a couple of different documents i've seen online from UNSW and UNE they don't recommend in text referencing because you are explicitly talking about a reference that you have just provided the citation for and also because you are not supposed to introduce any other references in the body of your annotated bibliography section.

I'll cut paste here from this document - https://www.une.edu.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0008/11132/WE_Writing-an-annotated-bibliography.pdf

'•Do NOT repeat information (e.g. the title) that is already in your citation

• Do NOT cross reference i.e. use any in-text references as you are only writing about a single text.'

Hope this helps,

David
