Referencing Government Report

Hi,

I have a few questions.

1. Can I reference this report like this ?

Department of Health 2018, Australian National Breastfeeding Strategy: 2018 and Beyond – Draft for public consultation, reviewed 23 February 2019, <URL>.

2. How do I reference a government report who has contracted a third party e.g. Sax institute to write the report but they also have individual authors names on the report? Thanks.

Smith, JP., Cattaneo, A., Iellamo, A., Javanparast, S., Atchan, M., Gribble, K., Hartmann, B., Salmon, L., Tawia, S., Hull, N., Linkson, M., Blake, M. & Elliot-Rudder, M 2018, Review of effective strategies to promote breastfeeding, brokered by the Sax Institute for the Department of Health, ??

Thanks.

Hi Jasmin,

Thank you for your question.

1.

Couple of things to look out for: the full title of the report is available from page 2 of the report and the title includes the date ‘22 May 2018’.

Also, for the title of report, capitalise only the first word and proper nouns.

Department of Health 2018, Australian National Breastfeeding Strategy: 2018 and beyond - draft for public consultation - 22 May 2018, viewed 23 February 2019, <URL>.

2.

In this case, “an Evidence Check rapid review brokered by the Sax Institute for the Department of Health” is the subtitle of the report.

Smith, JP., Cattaneo, A., Iellamo, A., Javanparast, S., Atchan, M., Gribble, K., Hartmann, B., Salmon, L., Tawia, S., Hull, N., Linkson, M., Blake, M. & Elliot-Rudder, M. 2018, Review of effective strategies to promote breastfeeding: an Evidence Check rapid review brokered by the Sax Institute for the Department of Health, viewed 23 February 2019, <URL>.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Hossain
