Librarian Consultation

Undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students

Undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students can book a 15-minute study help session(External link)(External link)(External link)(External link)(External link)(External link)(External link) with a librarian for in-person assistance with finding, evaluating and referencing information. Consultations can be online, or in-person on level 7 of the Library, and can be booked between 11am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, starting Monday 2 March and finishing on Thursday 2 April. 

Topics covered in these consultations include: 

  • using the library catalogue and databases
  • developing your searching skills
  • evaluating information
  • understanding referencing (APA & AGLC) and referencing software.

Researcher and staff consultations

Postgraduate research students, honours students, and academic & professional staff can request a consultation with a librarian for personalised assistance with teaching or research needs. 

Consultations may cover:

  • Making the best use of Library services and resources
  • Referencing and referencing software
  • Copyright
  • Research
    • Literature searching
    • Systematic reviews
    • Publishing strategy
    • Research data management
    • Metrics for grant or promotion applications
  • Teaching
    • Embedding library training materials in Canvas and using Reading Lists
    • Identifying learning materials for your course
    • Library training for students including Study Guides

All research students, coursework students, and staff can request assistance from Library staff via chat or email.
