The Library's publisher database authentication proxy system - https://www.lib.uts.edu.au/goto - has been retired.
While Library staff have made all effort to replace hyperlinks using this system in Canvas with Library catalogue Permalinks, some may have been missed, which is probably the reason you have reached this page. First, try clearing your browser cache and try again, as we have noticed changed pages still appearing in the logs. If this does not resolve the issue, please search for the resource you are trying to access in the Library catalogue at https://search.lib.uts.edu.au/.
Bookmarks and "Bookmarklets"
While replacing the "/goto" links in Canvas, Library staff noticed that a few courses had instructions for a JavaScript hack to make browser bookmarks to resources using the retired system, under the title "Bookmarklet". We recommend you replace these bookmark links with Permalinks from the Library catalogue.
The same advice applies if you have made a bookmark in the usual way that uses the "/goto" system, or the link was from Zotero.
Google Scholar
For unknown reasons, on rare occasions, clicking on the search button in Google Scholar will attempt to redirect through the retired "/goto" system. If you have reached this page through Google Scholar, we recommend clearing your browser cache and cookies and trying the search again. If this is unsuccessful and you still reach this page, please file a ServiceConnect ticket with the following:
- The title should be "Google Scholar search issue - for Library IT"
- The date and time you reached this page
- Describe the resource you were searching for
- Do you have the UTS Library in your Google Scholar configuration for "My Library"?
- Give details of the web browser you are using and all plugins and browser extensions installed
- Try performing the search with a different web browser and let us know the result
- Library IT will respond as soon as we are able, to gather more information and try and resolve the issue for you
- Try searching for the resource you are trying to find in the Library catalogue
We are working with our technical partner at Google to try and diagnose and resolve this issue.
