Managing your research data well is essential to doing good research. This session introduces HDR candidates to the fundamentals of Research Data Management (RDM) at UTS—what counts as research data, why good data practices matter, and the key national standards and UTS policy requirements you’re expected to meet as a researcher.
We’ll also introduce Stash, the UTS Research Data Management platform. This is where you’ll create your Research Data Management Plan (RDMP) and manage key aspects of your data across the research lifecycle.
By the end of this session, you will know:
- Your responsibilities around managing research data
- How to use Stash to create an RDMP
- How to classify your data and choose appropriate storage
- Where to get support on RDM
Useful resources for this workshop:
- Library pages on Research Data Management.
- RES Hub’s Research Data Management (RDM) Online module (requires UTS login).
