Today marks the launch of the new UTS Library online experience. To complement the new UTS Blake Library in UTS Central, the digital library experience is being transformed to improve access to key resources, advice, support, and training. With approximately 5.5 million page views in 2020, the new website implements feedback from students, researchers, and teaching staff across multiple surveys, feedback groups, and user experience studies.
Whispers in the Library was a weekly performance held over August and September 2020 by artist, academic and writer Cherine Fahd, Director of Photography at UTS. Cherine holds a doctorate (PhD) from Monash University, Melbourne and her work has been exhibited and collected by major public institutions in Australia and internationally. Most recently, Cherine was selected for The National 2019: New Australian Art and awarded a residency at The Clothing Store, both through Carriageworks.
Fairy Tales, the children’s literature genre we recognise today for its timeless tales and happy endings, have greatly evolved from their past versions that usually had much more sinister and violent story lines. The exhibition displayed a selection of historical illustrations from notable children’s literature held in the Library’s Special Collections.
