We are absolutely ecstatic to announce that applications are now open for UTS Library’s Creative in Residence 2026. The program is now running for its 15th year, and we are calling all creatives to come play with us!

The gist of the residency
- You will have 6 months to bring your vision to life.
- Whatever you manifest will become a special part of the UTS Library’s culture and identity.
- To compensate you for your time, energy, and actual art making and superannuation we offer a remuneration of $15,000.
- You will receive $5000 material budget to make your concept a reality.
What we are looking for
In search of our 2026 Creative in Residence soul mate, we have a few relationship non-negotiables.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is willing to work in our fabulous Library at least once a week for 16 weeks (or equal to) so the community can see you in action.
- Is excited to engage with the community, culture and spaces.
- Is ready to participate in all kinds of events and activities.
- And finally, it goes without saying, we are looking for someone who will deliver their creative vision.

Eligibility
Residency applications are open to ALL creatures great and small, and applicants do not need to be affiliated with UTS to apply for this residency.
Key dates
- Applications open Monday 29 September 2025
- Applications close 5pm, Monday 3 November 2025
- Successful applicant notified by early December 2025
- 6-month residency to take place April - September 2026
